'the terminally ill metal works'
There was a point in my past artistic life that listing degrees, prizes, commissions and my other accomplishments was a standard procedure. However , after 40 years of welding sculptures, my prime interest is process, in constructive technique.
Simply put, I let the materials used suggest the development of the form. While this is not an exclusive process for me, it dominates the progress of my work. There are times when cutting, bending, altering material is necessary.
Although I never have duplicated a sculptural form, I occasionally produce a series of obviously similar works, i.e., same materials, size, color, but the form will be unique to each piece.
My current interest centers on making one or two figure tableaus related to some Broadway show, actual or generic by title. The emphasis on these Broadway pieces is 'attitude' and 'angles'. Creating theses figures, essentially through welding, is frustrating, challenging and rewarding.

Please note that Ralph Bigletti is no longer one of the Tower Gallery Artists...he will be missed, and we thank him for his years of contributions to the co-operative spirit of the Tower Gallery. His work is still available for sale and we hope if you are interested in his sculptures that you will use this link to contact him by email.
