PETER ZELL

Peter Zell is an artist and painter who resides on Sanibel Island with his wife Carol.  He practiced law for 32 years in California and took up painting as an avocation in the late 1990s.  He is largely self-taught but took drawing, painting and art history courses at a local college before he retired.  He has been active in several local art organizations.  He is principally a plein air painter in oil and acrylic, and also works in watercolor, graphite, and other water-based media. His style is loosely post-Impressionist with elements of abstraction and illustration.

His work has been juried into annual Butler Institute of American Art exhibitions in Youngstown, Ohio. At this time, Peter's work is only available in our physical gallery.
