Nature always provides harmonious palettes in the colors of the shells, plants and animals that decorate the coastline. Artist Marti Koehler's study of these natural elements are a nod to the beauty that surrounds her in her tropical environment. During her walks on the beaches of Southwest Florida, Koehler collects interesting coastal fodder to act as the inspiration for her still-life paintings. Shells, seaweed, feathers, and random discarded objects all create a colloge of things that evidence our current time on the planet. Koehler's study of inanimate objects is a soothing exercise in capturing the beauty in overlooked items, and is a practice in honing her daily vision to be grateful for the little things in life. This 14" X 11" acrylic on linen painting is framed in a white floater frame that is 1 inch deep. It is wired and ready to hang on a wall.
