Linda Wiggins Bubbles Up
This is a pastel over acrylic washes. It is a 15 1/2 x 9 1/2 framed.
 
I originally imagined this piece of art with the name "100% Humidity" in mind. As the painting progressed and my daughter took notice, she requested I change the name to "Bubbles Up" after the recent passing of Jimmy Buffett. It is a whimsical Key West cottage where there is always 100% humidity and it "fins up" and "bubbles up". Obviously, my daughter won the naming of the painting.

  • I have lived in Ft. Myers for 63 years, but was born in Pittsburgh. My father was a painting contractor painting steel mills and bridges. We moved here in 1959, when my father started a paint manufacturing business formulated for Florida climate. I was the one who matched color systems, before modern technology. Having paint in my veins, I turned to fine art in my late thirties, going from square foot to square inch! I love nature, even snakes and spiders. Am also a gardener so I have a plethora of inspiration in SW Florida to pull from.
