  • Ron Sebring was born, raised, and educated in Southeastern New Mexico and West Texas, his early art training began at the New Mexico Junior College and continued to Texas Tech University. It was at Texas Tech that Ron switched from art to architecture, where in 1976 he completed the degree program for Bachelor of Architecture, Design option. Ron and his wife Connie had been a part of Tower Gallery for over 25 years when they were forced to leave the gallery because of Connie’s health.

Even though a licensed architect, Ron’s first love was art. It was this love for art and the creative process that originally lead Ron into the field of architecture. His early years as an architect, Ron continued to supplement his architectural practice with his art. In addition to his architectural practice and fine art paintings, prints, and sculpture, Ron has worked as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, courtroom sketch artist, and has produced storyboards and set design for commercial television. Additionally, Ron taught at the College of Architecture, Texas Tech University and has taught classes at Lee County Alliance for the Arts, Fort Myers, Florida. Today, Ron still maintains his architectural practice from his Bonita Springs, Florida studio. Ron’s work spans the spectrum of architecture, drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture, and clearly shows a talent for working with a variety of media and subject matter. In 1988 Ron moved his family to Florida, where he has established his studio and architectural practice. In 1989 Ron was commissioned by NCNB Bank (now Bank of America) to do four (4) large oil paintings and thirteen watercolors. It was while completing this commission, Ron fell in love with the flora and fauna of Southwest Florida, which play a very important role in Ron’s art today. Ron’s work is included in numerous private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. and Europe. Some of the corporate collections include: Bank of America, Lee Memorial Health Systems, and the Heart Group Medical Offices in Fort Myers.

A few of the many awards and honors Ron has received through the years are: the New Mexico Junior College Who’s Who in Art; Best Graphic in Show (a woodcut print) at the Llano Estacado Art Association member show, Hobbs, New Mexico; one man show at the YWCA, Lubbock, Texas; and Group Art Show, University Club, Fort Myers, Florida. In 1994 Ron was selected as Poster Artist for the Island Reporter Newspaper, Sanibel Island, Florida. Ron’s painting “Dream Caster” was selected for the show’s Painting Award at the Naples Art Association Art Expo 99.
